Afghanistan is now under the control of Taliban military forces resulting in female teachers and female workers being forced to stay home and not to work. Afghans are asking for international support to stop the attacks being made on those who supported the elected government or worked with NGOs and western forces.
Canadian Women 4 Women Afghanistan is a group that the STA has donated to in support of teacher training and making educational resources available online. At a recent symposium for this group, it was reported that while elementary schools and colleges remain open for females in Afghanistan, girls in secondary school have been told to stay home for now.

- Buy tickets for a benefit concert on Saturday, November 27 at 7:30pm at The Cultch
