Your Rights as a TTOC

All members of the STA, whether they are a teacher teaching on call or engaged in a temporary or continuing assignment, are protected by the Collective Agreement and are entitled equally to representation and assistance by the STA and the BCTF. If you have any questions or concerns, you are encouraged to contact the STA Office or through a Staff Rep at a school.

Benefits and Health & Safety

The BCTF Advantage Program now offers a full Extended Health and Dental program for TOCs.  This plan contains many different options so you can take control and build the plan that best suits your specific needs.

For more information, please visit their Teachers Teaching on Call and health and safety page.

Professional Development

As employees of the Surrey School District, and members of the Surrey Teachers’ Association, TOCs can access any STA or Surrey School District sponsored Pro-D event.  Some of these events may require a small registration fee, TOCs wanting to attend such events, or even events sponsored by other organizations may apply for TOC Pro-D funding to a maximum of $150.00 per year. To learn more, visit our Professional Development page.
