The Coquitlam Teachers’ Association presents an IGNITE43 Pro D Event with a theme of “Reconnection” on Thursday, May 18, 2023 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm at the Old Mill Boathouse in Port Moody. Register now to guarantee your seat. The event includes more than ten presentations, a three-course meal (with non-alcoholic drinks), and time to connect with colleagues.  The cost for non-CTA members to attend is $50.  Teacher candidates receive a subsidized rate of $30.  You will receive an invoice via email after you register.

“Ignite” is a Professional Development evening event hosted at a local venue with amazing presenters, lively conversation, and great food.  Presenters are given 5 minutes to present their idea, with a maximum of 20 slides rotating automatically every 15 seconds.  The intention is to spark or ‘ignite’ an idea and allow time to discuss and share ideas between presentations.  In between presentations attendees can chat about what they’ve heard and learned while they enjoy appetizers, dinner, and dessert spread throughout the evening’s presentations.

As per the Collective Agreement G21.5 teachers “In any one (1) school year, up to ten (10) days’ leave may be granted with pay deducted at cost of substitute to enable participation in appropriate and acceptable professional development programs. Such leave will not be arbitrarily denied.”.

You would then need to apply for funds using either the Individual or Consolidated funds application. Please see below for how to apply and access Pro D funds.
