The Out of Our Pockets (OOOP) project is a Web-based research tool that will enable teachers and other education workers to document and record instances where they use their own money to purchase things to be used with their students, in their classrooms and in schools. Collecting this data will help in funding advocacy work.

A pilot for the Project will run from mid-August to mid-October of 2021. Participating Surrey teachers will use smart phones or tablets to access a secure online data system that’s been set up to record data on “out of pocket” expenditures.

Every time a teacher spends personal money for school or classroom supplies,  they would record the transaction online in a process that would take less than one minute.  If you’d like to participate in this pilot project, Sign up now!
