On July 29, 2022, the Surrey Teacher’s Association signed a settlement agreement with the employer regarding overpayment of remedy. The employer will return to individual teachers’ remedy banks 50% of the remedy they deducted in February 2019 in relation to the 2017-2019 school year.
After the agreement was signed the District added the minutes that were to be repaid directly to teachers’ remedy banks in July. If you believe you should be in receipt of this repayment, ask the head clerk (elementary) or the principal (secondary) to see if any minutes were added to your remedy bank July.
