It is time to fix overcrowded schools

Years of government underfunding have left Surrey schools overcrowded. Classes are too big and specialist teachers have been cut. Please tell the Minister of Education that it’s time to restore funding to public education in Surrey – to build more schools, make classes smaller and provide more support for kids with special needs.

Dear, Mr.McRae, I believe it is time to restore funding to public education in Surrey and across the province. More than 346 teachers are missing from Surrey schools. Students need the support of these classroom teachers and specialists such as counsellors, learning specialists and teacher-librarians in order to meet their full potential. Please return firm guarantees of services to students, including smaller classes and more support for students who need extra help. Every student deserves the support of this government. Surrey students can’t wait any longer.
