Boundary Issues: Teacher/Student Relationships

Sometimes the standards of conduct between students and teachers are ambiguous. Teachers place themselves in jeopardy when boundaries are crossed. This workshop helps teachers identify the boundaries and provides them with support and resources. Reference will be made to the BCTF Code of Ethics. Suitable for teachers in all subject areas at all levels.

Poverty in the Classroom:

Many teachers were inspired by Trish Garner’s presentation at the February 21st Donna Beegle Anti-Poverty Conference. Guildford Park Secondary is contintinuing to explore issues about poverty in the classroom on the upcoming PD day May 26th. Workshop leader Julia MacRae from the STA anti-poverty committee and guest speaker Trish Garner from BC Poverty Coalition will be there to help us delve deeper into this topic.
