12:00 noon—Rally starts at Legislature

Logistics:
We have arranged bus transport to the Tsawwassen ferry terminal for 300 members on the 7:00 am sailing and 200 on the 9:00 sailing. In cost sharing with the BCTF and STA we will pay for the Passenger Ferry fees to and from Victoria.

Those traveling on the early sailing will be returning on the 5:00 pm sailing.

Pick up Locations (Tentative)
South Surrey Park and Ride (King George Boulevard at Highway 99)
There are only 481 free spaces so we recommend carpooling to the Park and Ride.

Please arrive early as the buses need to be at Tsawwassen 30 min before departure.
– Leaving at 5:40 and 7:40 Pick Up for 7:00 and 9:00 sailings
– Returning 7:15 and 9:15

Scott Road 110th Ave. at Scott Rd.
There are 1500 parking spaces – Keep your receipt for reimbursement
– Leaving at 5:40 and 7:40 Pick Up for 7:00 and 9:00 sailings

Agriplex – 17798 62 Avenue, Surrey (Gravel Lot on North Side by Entrance)

Leaving at 5:20 and 7:20 Pick Up for 7:00 and 9:00 sailings

FAQ
Can I travel on my own to Victoria?
Yes; however, we will only be providing reimbursement for passenger ferry fares.

Can I carpool to the ferry, park, and catch a Surrey bus on the Victoria side?
Yes, we will reimburse the $16.00 parking at Tsawwassen terminal. Please note that all reserveable walk on passenger spaces are booked so arrive early.

Can I travel with my family?
The bus spaces are reserved for Surrey Teachers. We will have to let you know later in the day if space still exists. We will pay for members only.

Will I be able to claim other expenses?
No; as this would normally be a work day, you are responsible for meals. As transportation options are being provided vehicle fares will not be reimbursed

Can I go via Horseshoe bay instead?
If you travel via Horseshoe bay, we can pay your passenger ferry fare only. You may be able to connect with a closer local to travel with them.

Will attending the rally count as my daily picket duty?
Yes; you will need to sign in on the bus or on the ferry with picket captain. We will also have a sign in at the Grand Pacific Hotel.

If I go on a later bus, can I take the earlier bus back?
No, those on the first sailing over will be scheduled to take the first sailing back.

Should I pack a lunch and dinner?
Yes, pack a lunch as downtown Victoria will have more several thousand attending the rally. You may be able to purchase dinner on the ferry, but remember it will be at capacity.

Can I choose which location to be picked up from?
We will accommodate people as best possible with preference until registration begins to fill up. Then we will have to filling spaces at available locations.
